Bullets Baseball

Welcome to the Bullet's Baseball Blog.
Our team is made up of 14 talented young baseball players.
We are managed by Coach Russ, along with the help of many assistant coaches that happen to be our players' dads, uncles, grandfathers, and occasionaly even moms.
Our priority for our team... is to LEARN the game of baseball, the fundamentals, teamwork, and of course to have fun.
This blog is meant for encouragement and enjoyment of all our players and their families and fans.

Bullets -vs-Lightning-- 4-15-10

The Bullets showed up ready for a fight. The boys knew this team had a reputation of being "tough"..but we were ready to PLAY BALL!

Game Highlights..

Inning 1:
top: Lightning up to bat:
Pop fly to short-Jake caught pop for 1st OUT
Ground ball to 2nd-safe at 1st
Fly ball to LF-
single to 3rd base
Ground ball to Jason Jr(pitcher)-throws to 1st(Layton)- 2nd OUT
bottom: Patrick up to bat: walk, steals 2nd
Travis hits double-steals 3rd
Jake hits single, steals 2nd
Josh hits double, steals 3rd
Nicky hits a double
Remy walks, steals 2nd
Tyler hits single to short.
Inning 2:
Chuckie hits a single to short
Avery walks- steals 2nd & 3rd
Jason Jr. walks- steals 2nd

Inning 3:Jake catches low line drive to short- shocked everyone
Travis walk- steals 2nd and 3rd

Inning 4: ground out to 2nd
Josh-walk-steals 2nd, steals 3rd
Nicky- walk. Steals 2nd
Tyler-single to first
Inning 5: Preston hits a single
Chuckie walks-steals 2nd, scores on an overthrow
Jason Jr. walk- steals 2nd & 3rd

The boys played hard and are learning important lessons in the sport of baseball.
For the first time- we heard the boys talking to each other. Encouraging each other, giving instructions as to which base was the force... and calling "Hold the ball". The overthrows were minimal this game...and the boys are gaining confidence in their base stealing. I know the score ( 20-6) is discouraging, but I believe we are gaining ground. The boys are figuring out the game.

Way to go Bullets...you played hard, and you did not give up.

That is what makes a

BASEBALL PLAYER!
